“It was great to experience leadership with the horses as teachers and guides to demonstrate what is effective and how we can improve on or eliminate old ineffective patterns.  What responsive and gentle teachers they are!!”

  what

We are always communicating.  Everything we think, feel, do and say sends out a message.  Horses help us become aware of how we communicate on every level – verbally, mentally, physically and emotionally.  Congruent expression creates connection so that others will buy into your vision, ideas and communications.

Understanding nonverbal communications will help you
:

  • Connect with yourself and others
  • Better understand others and be better understood
  • Listen without fear of judgment
  • Listen and create space for people to express themselves
  • Ask for what you want
  • Create clear boundaries

Horses are masters in the art of ruthlessly honest feedback.  They give us the information we need to transform but make no demands on us to change. They have no hidden agenda.  The horse will always react clearly to their perception of us as leaders.  They give immediate feedback on our communication style, revealing our personal strengths and weaknesses as leaders.  And they show us exactly what we need to change in order to achieve our goals, improve our performance and effectively gain the cooperation and respect of others. The horses make split-second adjustments to changes in behaviour and offer timely responses – to actions, inner states, attitudes and emotions. Horses make great facilitators!

Your team will learn how changing their physical style will cause them to communicate more effectively and also pick up on the reactions of others in the team more rapidly.

Horses rely on actions being more powerful than words.
