‘FEEL’ FACILITATOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

‘FEEL’ - Facilitated Equine Experential Learning

Human/horse relationships, in which the horse is the teacher, have existed for centuries. In the last fifteen years that this has been formalized into an actual therapeutic personal growth discipline in North America. Today, it is a growing and fascinating field, both innovative and proven effective.

The horses engage us in Experiential Learning – that is, we learn by doing.  It is a process through which individuals gain knowledge, acquire skills, and enhance their value systems.  Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL) reinforces the perceptions of change and promotes integration in individuals’ daily lives to make the learning applicable and meaningful.

This Training program is ideal for coaches, educators, facilitators, equestrians, therapists, and other individuals who are looking for practical training and experience in developing Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning programs where the horse is valued for their role as a therapist and teacher.

The Training program will focus on

  • Learning theories and practices relevant to FEEL
  • Understanding herd behaviour
  • Interpreting equine behaviour & insights
  • Creating a spiritual connection to horses
  • Developing horses as therapists/life coaches
  • Learning effective facilitation skills and adult education practices
  • Running a successful FEEL workshop
  • Understanding ethical practices and mental health components
  • Honing your communication skills with horses and groups
  • Improving Group dynamic skills
  • Developing and marketing a FEEL Business
  • Enhancing your personal style
  • Creating a sacred place

The FEEL Facilitator Certification Program consists of 15 days of on-site instruction over 4 sessions, plus individual and group study assignments, and individual private sessions as needed over the course duration of five months.  It will help prepare participants to facilitate horse activities in a way that optimizes the abilities, emotional well-being, and empowerment of both the horse and the human.
